Desire Rain

Desire Rain

Deep within your being is your higher self. It is the creative force within you that’s responsible for bringing abundance into your life. It does not know of any bounds and cannot be contained. It is boundless and eternal. Within this higher self is the spark of thought and creation. This is where our desires are born. Our desires explode with potential and promise. It rains down upon our thinking mind and throughout our entire consciousness. It is here that it is ready to be released upon the universe. Once it is unleashed, it alters and forms our life and our reality. It is what bends the Universe to our will.

How this desire is released and in what form is totally up to you. If you release it in its raw form, it is strong and there is not force that can stop it. Newton created three laws of motion that can be applied to your releasing your desire upon the Universe.

The first Law of Motion states that every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. This means that when you send your desire out into the Universe it will continue to move unless something alters its course or some other force is applied. This force can be doubt, fear, or feelings that you will fail. These forces can stop your desire or alter its course. You must remove these negative thoughts from your life to allow your desire to blossom in your life. Plants cannot grow without rain. When desire rains, plants of abundance can grow.

The second Law of Motion Newton stated was the Law of Inertia. This means that an object’s speed and acceleration relies on its size, and the force behind it. When we believe and add to the force behind out desire, our abundance grows more quickly. The faster it rains, the more quickly it grows.

The third Law of Motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. That means that everything we do in order to support our desire will propel it forward even farther. When you limit your desires, you stop its motion. You want to take inspired actions that propel your desires for abundance in your life through the Universe. When we worry and doubt that we can achieve our desires, we stop our desires in their tracks.

Your life is a fertile field, it needs only to be rained on to begin to grow and provide abundance in your life. Allow your higher self to create these life-giving rains of desire to begin the life you always wanted.

Nora wanted to have her own coffee shop. She thought about it a lot. She could imagine what it would be like to work for herself. She spoke about decorating the shop and having many people coming and speaking with her while drinking the coffee she brewed for them. Her higher self created the idea. There was no motion to propel it. I asked her, "In what timeframe can you see yourself actually running your coffee shop?" I suggested she write down all the things she was thinking about, dreaming of and visualizing about her coffee shop, including the timeframe of it opening. She saw it happening within about six months. The rain cloud was released into the Universe.

She began to find equipment and sources for coffee. The rain was beginning to nourish the seeds below. The more it rained the quicker it rained. Soon she got a small loan and the perfect spot for the shop became available. In six months, almost to the day, she had her grand opening. And today, she spends her time joyfully brewing coffee delights for her customers.

What is stopping your rainstorm? Set it free, and reap the abundance it can bring.

The Chocolate Love Affair

The Chocolate Love Affair
by Eva Gregory, CPCC

In order to bring those wanted changes in our lives we have to change the way we are asking. Once you have established a goal, reflect on the way you are asking for that goal to occur.

It is easy to state it as something you do NOT want rather than something that you DO want. For example, let's say you want to lose weight. You might express this as “I do not want to be fat.” Now consider how this statement makes you feel. You might feel guilt or embarrassment at the thought of being overweight. Now change that statement to something like “I want to be at a healthy weight.” This is less negative. Note how this statement feels versus the previous statement. The new statement takes the sting away, because 'fat' does not exist in the statement. The focus of being healthy has replaced it.

Let's take this one step further and make a definitive statement rather than a wish. Consider the statement “I have decided to be a healthier weight.” This is a statement that you have made a decision and that you will make it happen rather than wishing that it MIGHT happen.

When I was in my 20’s I had a ‘thing’ with chocolate. We had this love affair in which every meal, chocolate was invited. I had to have chocolate with breakfast, lunch, dinner and every snack in between. In fact, chocolate became the meal rather than just an invited guest in many cases. No matter what I tried my thoughts always turned back to chocolate. I was totally head over heels for chocolate.

I decided that enough was enough. I made a decision, “I have decided to eat healthy foods.” This created a reality that gave little room for chocolate to live in. In making this decision, I was focused on eating healthy foods rather than feeling guilty over eating chocolate. This shift in thought led to a new habit of eating yogurt-covered raisins. I ate them but did not have a craving for them. They did however replace my yearning for chocolate and I went a solid year without eating any chocolate whatsoever – without missing it! The love affair was over and my new love was for healthier foods. Now if I am in the mood, I might have a bite or two of chocolate, but I can take it or leave it.

What are the habits you want to change? DECIDE today what you’d prefer instead and make that your new focus. Soon you’ll find you’ll be guided to the people, places, circumstances, events and ideas that will support your new habit and it can happen in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way!

Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today

Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today
by Eva Gregory, CPCC

Ivy Ledbetter Lee was considered to be the father of public relations, even teaching the first PR class at New York University in 1912. He was a consultant for many business moguls of that time: Westinghouse, Lindbergh, Chrysler, and Charles M. Schwab. During his consultancy work for Bethlehem Steel, founded and run by Charles M. Schwab, Lee told president Schwab that, with all Bethlehem Steel accomplished and had to offer, he and his executives should have more effective management skills. Lee told Schwab, “"I can increase your people's efficiency – and your sales – if you will allow me to spend fifteen minutes with each of your executives."

Schwab replied that what Bethlehem Steel employees needed was not to know more, but to work more… but asked Lee how much it would cost him. Lee said, "Nothing, unless it works. After three months, you can send me a check for whatever you feel it's worth to you." Schwab agreed that if Lee could show him and his employees how to do the things they knew they needed to do – and get them done - he would pay any fee that Lee wanted. Lee reiterated, in so many words, that Schwab could just pay him what he thought it was worth when the time comes.

Thus a deal was made: in the span of about a ¼ of an hour, Lee was supposed to be able to give Schwab and his employees a method that would increase company effectiveness by at least 20-50%.

Schwab called a meeting with his executives the next day. Once seated, Lee gave Schwab and the others a sheet of paper and told them to write down the six most important things they had to work on the next day. As they were writing them down, Lee instructed them to do number them in order of importance.

Lee instructed those in the room further: they were to, each morning, pull out yesterday’s list and, at the beginning of their workday, and start working on Item 1 first. Once that was completed, they were to scratch that item out – and proceed to number 2 on the list, and so on – in order. He added that all were to read the list every so often throughout the day, looking at the item to which they were currently attending. Lee told Schwab and his executives not to worry if they didn't complete all tasks on their sheet for any certain day. It was only important that they work on the most important item first, then the next important, and so on – adding that, if this method didn't improve efficiency, nothing would.

Lee finished up by telling Schwab and his employees to spend the last five minutes of every working day writing a new "must do" list for tomorrow’s tasks. They were to follow these steps every day for 90 days.

Lee called Schwab aside after he concluded the meeting and told him, “Try this method out for three months, then send me a check for whatever you think it was worth.”

Just a 15-minute meeting… and no more than 15 minutes a day for employees to write a list!

A mere two weeks later, Schwab sent Lee a check for $25,000 (worth more than $400,000 in today's dollars). He clipped a note to the check. In the note, Schwab told Lee that this was the most profitable business lesson he had ever learned – and that is saying something, considering that Schwab had, in earlier years, worked under financier J.P. Morgan! Over time, following this simple method, Schwab and his executives turned Bethlehem Steel into the biggest independent steel producer in the world, surpassing both U.S. Steel and Carnegie Steel, both for whom Schwab had been president prior to founding Bethlehem Steel. One simple method… and Schwab amassed a personal fortune of $100 million. By the way, in today's dollars, that is equivalent to more than $1 billion! Not too shabby!

So, ask yourself: why put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Make your list of priorities. Tackle Priority One, first. You’ll be amazed at how your productivity will soar!
